Jesters and Sobar to join together for one massive night

Published:September 2, 2011

Slightly Soton can report on rumours that Jesters and Sobar will indeed join forces sometime before Christmas for a huge nightlife spectacular.

Our source confirms that one entry ticket will gain entry into both venues, with a pre-order price significantly cheaper than on the day.

It is also believed that an underground tunnel between the two clubs is specially being constructed for the forthcoming event, which lie no more than a few buildings apart.

Both Jesters and Sobar are rated amongst many as the best two student bars in Southampton – despite Jesters once being rated as worst in the country, and Sobar being closed once before on health and safety grounds.

A bouncer from Sobar confirmed the rumours, stating: “It will be a night to remember”.

The event is yet to be announced, but likely Christmas-related

“The club have also jointly applied for a late opening license, which will mean closing time moving to 6am.”

“The only thing they can’t agree on is whether to hold the event on a Monday or a Tuesday.”

Rumours have also come to light regarding the drinks on offer. It has been reported that the banned “quad-vod” will be served again for one night only, and Sobar will serve Jesters’ own cocktail, the Jesticle.

Hampshire Police have raised concerns to the rumours, but are making no official comments about the event.

Erm, this is not true. The only thing that might happen is the giant Portswood pubcrawl that we have organised in previous years. (on a Thursday)
